Atlanta Is A Haven for Powerful WIM
Have you thought about how rich we are here in the Atlanta North Georgia Conference organization of Women In Ministry? We have one of the female bishops ever in Atlanta--our Mother Bishop (ret.) Carolyn Tyler Guidry; two of the three Connectional Women In Ministry consultants here in ATL--Dr. Jacqueline Grant and Dr. Teresa L. Fry Brown, and WIM advocate and supporter Dr. Jamye Coleman Williams; We have a connectional WIM officer in Atlanta Conference and we have state WIM officers representing Atlanta North GA Conference. We even have a GA House of Representatives member serving as a pastor in ANGC. From politicians to educators, to womanist theologians to newer gamechangers, clinicians to CEOs, we are ANGC WIM. We are those WIMAN (Women In Ministry Atlanta North)! Join us!
African American History: Celebrating Our Past, Secured for the Future
Remembering Richard Allen & Jarena Lee
The African Methodist Episcopal Church was birthed in courage. Taking a stand for what was right continues to be our aim. Anyone daring to launch anything understands the faith and works required to not only build but to build something that lasts. Our founder, Bishop Richard Allen had the Abrahamic anointing--God has given him seed as numerous as the sands. For that, we, the descendants, are grateful.
Reverend Jarena Lee is our shero. Her call and acceptance to preach the Gospel is a compelling story many of us draw from continuously. Like Bishop Allen, our foremother probably did not imagine all the daughters and sons around the world who would come to know her name and be blessed by her autobiography.
Both Allen and Lee have given us vision, courage, and legacy. The doors of the church are open for all to enter, to find place, and to pursue the purpose of God. We are AME STRONG!
